Freeman and Fine

In addition to my solo practice I also collaborate with artist filmmaker Adam Fine. By combining our respective skills, sense of mood and aesthetic, we are able to create something more challenging, developed and conclusive than as individuals. This synthesis of skills has culminated in stop-motion film, illustrated fiction and shadow puppetry.

Our work so far has explored literature, both written and sung, through a transcriptive approach. For a recent production, they reworked aspects of Dante’s Inferno to include particular visual aspects of the real world alongside an imaginative, fantastical world in which characters both inhabited independently, as well as being part of its very architecture. Other influences include the poetry of Pablo Neruda and Dylan Thomas.
